Thanks for your responses. I had my heart set on those red beauties but watching an animal die is so awful. I relied on a clerk at a store's advice once and I blended in some fish where they didn't belong. It was absolutely terrible but I learned some huge lessons on that. Yeah losing only 4 is stil...

other kinds?
Are there other kinds of shrimp that would be ok to put with a Betta? I've heard ghost shrimp. True?

Well then it's sure not worth it for anyone involved except the Betta who's getting a free meal. I'd hate to get something only to have it die. Thanks guys.

You're probably right. I do have alot of plants in there and a coconut hut with java moss on it that they could crawl into the edges of.

Population Question
I have a Betta in a 10 gallon tank and want to get him some red cherry shrimp as tankmates. How many can I put in with im without overcrowding? Will they reproduce in there so I need to be mindful of that? I don't really want to breed them at this point and don't want their reproducing to cause an o...
