Bradimus, I was editing my earlier post as you were posting a response... I found a different recommendation on Seachem's site (see above).

I wish I could help you out with this. I've had a few of my older females die over the past few weeks as well. It's only the oldest ones, so I'm hoping it's just age -- these are NOT the ones I got from Mustafa, but some I'd gotten here in town (I have no idea how old they were when I got them). I r...

...so don't pay more for "specialty crustacean food" that has absolutetely no advantage to normal flake food despite the claims. Just wanted to say that I originally tried the crab cuisine because someone else here pointed out that it's a good source of iodine. The reason I still f...

I don't have any fish in my shrimp tank, so they don't get "leftovers", and I hardly have any algae, so I give the shrimp food once a day.

I usually feed them Veggie Wafers (broken into small pieces) and Hikari Crab Cuisine. Sometimes I give them other fish foods, or some frozen spinach.

Good point about the breeding, doubleflake. I've seen my reddish green shrimp with eggs several times. Come to think of it, when I bought the shrimp at the LFS, there was a wide range of colours, including a lot of green ones. If the colouration were stress-related, wouldn't all the shrimp in the st...

Well, I hope your theory is wrong, but only because I don't want to think that my shrimp are stressed. :? I have one green shrimp that is almost always reddish coloured, and others that are always green. So far the young seem to be mostly green, although I do see them turn a kind of muddy mossy colo...

My shrimp love to go for Hikari Crab Cuisine, Veggie Wafers, and other pellet-type foods. If you use food that's in tiny pieces, it tends to float all over the place. With wafers, you can break them into decent-sized chunks and drop them where you want the shrimp to be. If you look back at my pics, ...

Try dropping some food for them near the glass. That's how I get my shrimp to come out in the open for some pics.

Not knowing that it's for sure a green shrimp, I think it'd be best if the pic went in a new thread. There are a few "mystery shrimp" threads already started if you don't want to start a new one though.

They breed easily, but they're not quite as prolific as cherries. Plus they grow slower, so it takes longer for the new generation to reach maturity and begin breeding.

This is so cool. Whenever I drop food in the tank, all my shrimp crowd around to get their share. Tonight, one of them was a green shrimp carrying eggs. A couple hours later, after the light went off, I stopped by the tank to have another look, and I saw a teeny tiny baby shrimp on the glass. I mean...
