If two shrimp look exactly the same, except that one has green eggs and the other has whitish eggs, does that mean they belong to different species?
At first, I thought the color difference was due to different stages of egg development. But it's been over a week and the colors have not changed.

It depends on how strict your customs people are. Do they search every inch of your luggage? I find that airlines are far more strict with handcarried items than checked-in baggage. So what I usually do is find a small styropore box, put the shrimp (in bag, of course) in my check-in luggage. The sty...

Sorry, this was the best I could do. They don't look too different from yours, but they are more opportunistic as scavengers. The micropincers I spoke of are those teeny-weeny forks (more like toes, really) at the end of the forelegs, just barely visible in the first photo. Funny, I never noticed th...

Having trouble with shrimp ID
First of all, I'm sorry that I have no pics to show, because my tank is a low-light set-up, and my camera has such bad shutter-lag that it's impossible to catch these creatures on camera. Secondly, I live in SE Asia...just so we can rule out certain species like the American glass shrimp. I bought t...
