Thanks for posting your pictures. The creatures in question look like cyclops, a freshwater copepod, to me. Your water quality most be great as they are rarely live in tanks with poor water conditions.

I raise killifish fry, until they get too large, in my RCS tanks. The shrimp ignore the fry and do a wonderful job of cleaning up uneaten baby brine shrimp. Both these tanks also have large quantites of java moss and floating watersprite to maintain water quality between water changes.

Thank you for the suggestion. I use dechlor, but am concerned about the increase in activity. Maybe it is just normal behavior. I'll try the aged water just in case :) .
