I think it depends on how many shrimp you have in the tank and if the filtration is good. I think that if there are only a few shrimp then bioload (waste) would be low and the need for water change would be less frequent. Please let me know how you can tell if eggs are fertilized. Is there color, size or shape that will let you know?

So these are eggs that will drop in time? Then this is good way to tell the sex of the shrimp!

I find my RCS pretty tame also. Whenever I put anything, including the gravel cleaner or net in the water they swim to and cling to it . Pretty neat !

I treated my tank with aquarium salt 1tbsp/5gallons and the ich no longer shows on my fish. afterwards I did a water change so that the salt concentration is diluted by fresh water.

P.S. what do vampire shrimp look like?

Thanks for the information, so do you think I should move the pregnant RCS or move the ghost shrimp? I also have amanos in the tank do they pose a threat?
