The new scape has opened up the tank visually and it seems much more roomy. That was the plan. :) I see the shrimp out in the open, how are the fish behaving towards the shrimp? Have you seen any aggressive behaviors? None. The fish ( Oryzias latipes ) stay mostly near the surface and ignore the sh...

Actually I've used 6 regular sized balls. 3 on the filter and 3 to cover one piece of arched wood in the back of the tank.

jeej - That's Lilaeopsis brasiliensis. There are a few other similar species (L. chinensis, L. ruthiana etc.).

Did the snails that you picked off the plant appear healthy? I'm just curoius because you say it killed your M.T.S. too. Yes, they were normal and healthy - just a few Gyraulus ablus . I don't know how many MTS died, but i think around 5-10. Mostly some older and bigger ones. I found another animal...

I've made another big water change a few hours later, so probably more than 2/3 is fresh. The fish seem to be alright, two remaining shrimps are in a seperate tank and are stable.
