After a few minutes, it's a cherry shrimp town hall meeting! Every single shrimps come out enjoy the feast. And that's how I counted all 23 shrimps in my t...

Babies are born.
The baby cherry shrimps are hatching tonight. First saw two, then four, and then I lost count. I have four more berried females, and many more showing saddles. My 10 gallon aquarium will become pretty busy in a short while. :) http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g241/MoltenLava_2006/fishtank/shrimpbab...

Today I got curious about the results that is the same all the time, and decided to test the tap water. Surprise, surprise, surprise. The water off the tap show the exa...

Ah, thanks for the clarification. So the air line is connected to the bottom of the sponge filter, and the rising air bubbles cause the water to be sucked in through the foam. Being a newbie and not having many friends with fishtank, I haven't seen such application. But it all makes sense now. Thank...

YuccaPatrol, Thanks for the explanation. Yes, what I bought is like a powerhead connected to sponge filter.. I have more stupid questions coming.. I thought air pumps are usually connected to the bubble bars or ornaments like treasure chests, used to push the air through the device. How do I use tha...

Newbie here, seeking sponge filter recommendation. Something seemingly as simple as buying a sponge filter can be a challenge for a newbie.. I went to a local pet store to get a sponge filter. Ended up buying a Marineland Penguin sponge filter. Well, it kinda works but there are two problems. It cre...

But I'm more curious what kind of digital cameras you have. The pictures you posted are one of the best fishtank pictures I've ever seen.

Hydra control
So I have these a couple of snails in my shrimp aquarium. They look like apple snails. I believe they are either Cana's or Brig's. I didn't appreciate their huge appetite in the beginning, but then I just realized that they might be devouring the Hydras in my tank. I have Hydra outbreak that I am st...

Holly molly. I think I found a couple of Coelenterata (Hydras) in the tank. http://naturalaquariums.com/inverts/hydra.html They look exactly like the ones in the first picture. One attached to Myno plant, and one attached on the rock. They are tiny, maybe 1-2mm long, but I'm afraid they will be harm...
