Out of the 6 I received. Onyl 1 is a true blue. One is almost white with blue highlights. 3 are brownish with bluish highlights. An 1 is just brown.

They are still small, and I am still having a hard time sexing Crayfish.

One day I would like to start, just breed The Blues together ...

I'll try. They have ALOT of hiding spaces in the tank, so it makes it difficult to catch the right moment. I'll work on it though!

I missed the end of the auction.

I need a few more to fill the 125 gal that my other ones are in.

Maybe the next generation will have more that are blue.

Honestly, I have never noticed any really blue crayfish in my tanks. If I noticed blue ones I would try to breed them selectively. Maybe you guys got lucky and the crayfish colored out after growing a bit.

I think they are, Mustafa. I know that I have a good 10 or so out of all I've got from you ...

Hey folks, I'm curious about your water parameters...

Mine are:

Ammonia, Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 20
Hardness: 150
Alkalinity: 60
pH: 7


What have you found works best for your crays? Especially for breeding..

Dwarf crayfish are just like regular crayfish when it comes to mating, they will breed ... if she is going to drop eggs, she won't shed, if she doesn't then she will shed. I haven't found a steady pattern as to when they breed and when they will not. It seems its all up to the males, most females ...

Are there any types of conditions (in your experience) that crayfish prefer to breed in? Sans weekly water changes of course.

I have never consider C Puer.
I do not think I have ever seen them.

I know alot of "dwarf " crayfish, have been listed on the Auction sites.


I try to have I Species per tank. But, I take them when I can get them.
I will not mix species , if there is a chance of cross breeding.
