Ruppia maritima got ya!!

Great news in this Christmas holidays I found Ruppia maritima also known as Widgeon grass growing in a brackish pond near the coast, a small pond probably connected to the sea by volcanic tubes just like the anchialine pools of hawai, it were full cover with the ruppia maritima and macroalgae like U...

Re: Mystery Blue Shrimp

Yes please any photos will be very helpful, so they could be blue tiger shrimps or another caridina species but I think there are more chances for they to be Blue Velvet or Blue Dream shrimps that are Neocaridina color variants just like your RCS Blue Velvet https://img12.360buyimg.com/imgzone/s800x...

Re: Discovered A New Brackish Water Plant!

The fine Chaeto that I collected here in the tide pools of the coast of Tenerife are doing pretty good in brackish. The Ulva rigida (a very similar species to the Ulva latucca) its doing good and pearling oxygen but not growing. The marine Cladophora live but not growing also. The Aegagropila "...

Re: Orange Supershrimp breeding project -- finally!

Lot of people report "white" shrimp, but usually they are just red shrimp that have lost coloration. I'm talking about colorless shrimp with green eggs as show on a picture in their own thread. As for black shrimp....I highly doubt it. But go ahead and start a new thread so you can post t...

Re: New tank suggestions - substrate and decor

I also like dark substrate for the shrimps. I use fine black volcanic gravel for my set up and the red realy show up, the shrimps tend to blend with the substrate color and if its too bright the redcolor might wash a bit
