I do use RO but one time I accidentally use hap tap water. No issues and that tank is actually flourishing. I would never suggest tap.

Great way to start off the summer. I haven't seen a berried female in at last 6 months. I just assumed the jar reached max population. Not the clearest video since I never clean the side of this jar.

Depending on how you set your tank up and maintain it will determine what happens with your MTS population. My shrimp are constantly grazing but the algae never goes away. It's a pretty think one not just a surface algae. Just too much in all of my tanks. I leave my lights on for 7hrs on a timer. I've had the caulerpa for 4 months or so. I have seen some melting of the leaves where they turn transparent but growth has been good. Here's an update of where this tank is now. 5 weeks old. I've decided to keep the sponge filter in there for now. I've added some macro algae. Left wall is almost completely green & the rocks are starting to get covered in algae as well. I'm planning to add more rocks on the left side.

The lighting I believe is 6 watts and should be replaced. I have been feeding freeze dried spirulina from time to time to support the population. Seems to be more than one in the tank. I've counted maybe 6 so far? They move around so it seems they are never in the same place the next day. I'm surprised they are in brackish water and doing well it seems.
