I gotta call BS on successfully converting to FW. There's been studies done by Dr. Scott Santos that stated cannot survive in FW or full SW. Hypothetically speaking if this were possible these would be an ideal shrimp to keep in FW.

How is your tank set up? No filter? What are you going to feed it?

What about Petco. I believe that's where I bought all of mine. It's not listed on their website for some reason but they do have all the standard Aqueon brand.

Can you see the Operculum? Usually once the MTS dies the Operculum quickly detaches.

I would agree as well. Vegetable or algae based foods I think would great but it's really on the initial start. If you continue to feed eventually you'll just pollute the water assuming you have no filter. All shrimp are scavengers and will eat anything. Just need to keep in mind what you're feeding...

That's really interesting. It does looking likes it growing, & growing well. Any idea on the species?

Where did the macroalgae come from? If I were to guess maybe you have a saltwater species?

I just neglected clearing out the chaeto for a while. Now I can see all my babies.

It is strange. Salinity is at 1.012 but it doesn't do well in all of my tanks. Some tanks it's growing great some not so much. I do see the leaves die, melt & turn clear. Definitely not meant for a brackish tank.

They do like to bury themselves from time to time & can go dormant for a few days. If you're wondering it it's alive check. If the Operculum is still intact it's fine. Usually it detaches quickly ones it dies.

As of today. Haven’t done any trimming. Just letting it grow out.

I think it came on some Caulerpa Prolifera. It had been in my tanks for over 4 months maybe? I hadn't added anything new so that's the only thing I could think of.

I've had similar life appear in my tanks from who knows where. Now I've heard people in general talk about parasites from MTS but I've never been able to find anything about what they can specifically harbor. I see MTS for sale everywhere & IMHO tank safe. Yes still around. I'm planning to remove these to a separate tank. I don't see the copepods as I used to as well as any Opae Ula floaters.
