Could this be a male Cherry?
I posted on PTF earlier today, but I wanted a second opinion...this shrimp is my only hope of having a male in the bunch...he is on the green rock...the other is obviously a saddled female... http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o216/Suzie_Q_01/The%20Shrimp/IMG_2175.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/alb...

One of my GS females had that. Put yours in a quarantine tank or net and wait for it to pass. Mine lived for about 4 months after hers passed (I also think she was at the end of her life when I got her...very big). There is no reason to kill her, as was suggested with mine on another forum. Good Luc...

Ok, now I have a really dumb question. Because mine have a saddles, will they lay eggs?...or do they have to mate to lay eggs? I am just worried about them. I don't want them to get egg bound or anything. Hopefully I have a male in the 2nd shipment of 10...I got all of the as 1/4in or smaller, so th...

You probaby got wild cauught imported shrimp. You get nothing but females in this case. In the future, watch for people selling tank bred shrimp of mixed sexes. You'll see these all the time on ebay and aquabid. Be sure to read their feedback, and don't buy from someone without a long and good rep....

Hello, I can't tell from the angle of the first 2 photos in this new series. The third is definitely female though. I'm still kinda new at this shrimp thing myself, and learning new stuff daily, so some of the other more experienced members may be able to help with those 2 pics based on something t...

Hey justrick! Long day at work, so I am just getting a chance to get back online. These guys are for producing food for my other fish (guppys are for producing food also, but have only produced 1 brood of fry in the few months I have had them. The first time the GS (mine have the tale-tale red band ...

These are feeders (or at least the offspring will be). I have a cave with java moss in it, and the smaller males use it a lot even if they are not ready to molt. I don't see her in there, but like I said, it is FULL of moss (did this for a hiding place that the fish could not easily get into), so sh...

Missing Ghost Shrimp
I did search, but most posts were in shrimp only tanks. I am missing one of the female Ghost shrimp. I have had 2 of them molt, and one is berried (yeah me!)...the missing female also had a saddle, so I know the missing female must be the other one that molted. The last female is the largest one I o...

I didn't mean to indicate that salt was needed. I've bred them in pure fresh water. I just wanted to let people know that a little bit of salt won't hurt. OOPS!!!sorry...I was trying to help you confirm that a little salt was ok :-D. In my brain, it read that way  . I am so used to adding sal...

Ghost shrimp were the first shrimp I got...cheap and easy to find. I kept them in a 10g with a salt content of 2 tsp per 10g...or 1tsp per 5g (regular aquarium salt found at walmart). I had about 30 babies or so between 2 berried (at purchase) females. I have 6 (can find 3) babies left, and have mov...
