Re: Set Up Review Before Cycling
.. You can also top off with reverse osmosis water. My tanks have all remained clear for years. I have the mossball in two of my tanks. I started with one and eventually it grew an appendage that I snipped off and put in another tank and it is growing well, albeit slowly. I like them but they grow v...

Re: Our Petshrimp Project
The glass wall of the tank is dirty or covered with algae and it makes the tank seem cloudy. But when I opened the lid and looked down, the water is very clear. Any idea how to clean the glass wall? The tank sits on my window counter with indirect sunlight. .. It is food for the shrimp. I say leave...

They float from the get go. The berried shrimp is probably hiding.

Re: Rinsing rock and substrate
Hi there, I am setting up a 2-gallon tank. I got crushed coral and some rock from my LFS. The owner knew about Opae Ula and had kept them in the past. He suggested I should NOT rinse the crushed coral, and could just lightly rinse the rock in tap water. So far, I've followed his advise. However it ...

.. Ok, but boiling is over kill. My substrate and lava rocks get rinsed in warm to hot-ish tap water. Twelve tanks later and all is well with active breeding. And now that I think about it, some of the locally collected rocks I have used only got a quick rinse in cold tap water. No issues. When it ...

I have a few like that too. Very cool.

My original moss ball is a floater and has never sunk. The baby that I clipped off of it and put into another tank has never floated. Go figure. Regardless, both are doing very well.

Re: Moss ball update
Just wanted to give a quick update on the moss ball I bought from Petshrimp on January 30, 2020. It has remained green and hasn’t seemed to get any bigger in the year I’ve had it BUT there are now at least 3 new babies! :D These little guys are sooo tiny but they are balls. I had noticed one over t...

Re: Heater recs please!
Thanks. My tank cycled for a month and I added the shrimp last night. I have sinking shrimp pellets, but I think they're too big. I put one in last night and this morning it had swelled up with water and "poofed" when I tried to remove it. I was thinking I should probably cut them in half...
