Hello
My question goes as follows: How long would it take for a shrimp in general to die due to starvation? In other words, how long can a shrimp survive without food? Perhaps different shrimp have different abilities?
Thank you for any insight.

Shrimp-safe pleco?
Hello all! Does anyone know what type of pleco can be a suitable tank mate for shrimp? I would like this pleco to help out with algae cleaning on the glass. Any other idea would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the info.

Re: Breeding behavior of scuds
Are scuds more of a nuisance than anything else? Or are they a delightful addition to a shrimp aquarium?

Re: A crayfish on its back
Hello
What is your tank setup and type of crayfish? Also, have you tested the water for nitrites and ammonia?
You should also check the pH and make sure it is consistent.
Keep me posted on your results.

Re: round, square or traingular ?
The shape of the container does not matter. As for "active"...healthy and happy shrimp of any kind pick on the substrate...if they are swimming around, then something is up...either they are not feeling well or a female just molted (and released some kind of hormones/smell) and a bunch of...

Oh, you already got the snails. Well, if it's working for you then great! When you take pics of your tank, take some of the snails also.

Is a bubble maker necessary for a shrimp tank?
Hey all! I was just wondering what your opinions were about a bubble maker for a shrimp and dwarf crayfish aquarium. I have successfully kept shrimp for a long time without bubbles, but I've seen mixed reviews about crays though. Any opinion will be gladly appreciated.

Re: Poop, a problem?
Yes, please do. I am not quite sure what to make of your description, because a gravel vacuum should pick up any debris that can fit through the grill, especially soft waste. Furthermore, if there is so much that you cannot vacuum it all, it may not be shrimp waste. As for the pond snails, make sure...

Re: Compatible fish with freshwater shrimp?
I have kept neon tetras with quite a few ghost shrimp, bamboo shrimp, and amano shrimp in a 20 gallon tank. Of course, I was not trying to breed any of them, or I wouldn't even have kept tetras.

Re: Poop, a problem?
If the pieces are rather small, you can certainly use a gravel vacuum next time you perform a partial water change. Pictures would be good though to have a more accurately idea of what it can be.

Re: new tank
Make sure you transfer as much water from the old aquarium to the new one. Also keep the filter cartridges. This will keep some of the beneficial bacteria present. Make sure you do not use any chemicals or harmful substances when making your aquarium, or cleaning it.
Good luck!
