Per your request Mustafa, Mystery Shrimp
Hello Mustafa and all, Here is one of the "contaminant" species that showed up with my Cardinal Shrimp from Sulawesi. They stay at the back of the tank if I come for a photo so the quality is not very good http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd219/southerndesert/010-1.jpg http://i225.photob...

Re: Shrimp ID Help
Thank you Werner for the information on these shrimp!
I will need to move them then to their own tank then. Are others currently keeping these in the hobby that you are aware of? I am guessing water parameters are close to the same as well.
Cheers, Bill

Shrimp ID Help
A couple months back I purchased what look to be the same shrimp that Mustafa describes as Dark Green Shrimp (Caridina sp.) in the varieties page of this site. You may remember the photos I posted asking about them. Along with the adults I also received some juvenile shrimp and they have now grown t...

Re: Malawa shrimp, new species from Sulawesi
Hi Mustafa,
Very nice shrimp and excellent info. Love the blue eggs on the female! I see the water parameters are more liberal than we have been told about other Sulawesi Shrimp. Or are you finding this true of other species as well?
Cheers, Bill

Orange Malaya Shrimp
Just thought I would share a photo of one of my Orange Malaya Shrimp. This is one of several young females with this coloring and what a beautiful shrimp! I am continually surprised at some of the colors that show up in this shrimp. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd219/southerndesert/OrangeMalay...

Re: Blue shrimp w/ GREEN ? on it
Yes I sort of figured I would lose that shrimp, but it recovered and eventually I re-introduced it back into the colony and have not seen any more of this issue. Good luck with yours...

Re: Blue shrimp w/ GREEN ? on it
Hi Pat, I had this with a Cardinal Shrimp a few months back as Arnold mentioned and after a time the shrimp was fine... I did isolate it to be safe. Here is some discussion about it at this forum. I wish I'd have paid better attention, but I am guessing a molt cured it. http://www.petshrimp.com/disc...

Re: Leaves
Maple is fine, but will not last as long as Oak or other hardwoods... The "meatier" the better when it comes to leaves.

Re: Shrimp update
OK and I should have been more specific and as usual I am still fascinated by just how in the heck supposed N heteropoda "blue" keep showing up for sale (per seller description). As well as Green now (not wild type) and as always curious as to origin of actual color since none seem to actu...

Re: Hawaiian Red Shrimp...my turn.
I am in the process of cycling and maturing a brackish water tank. I used a matured tank and added salt at a rate of 1/2 cup a day until the specific gravity reached 1.012 and I am still waiting for the tank to fully cycle and establish itself. I still have ammonia and nitrites showing in fairly hig...

Re: New with cherries.
Squishing them will not work, use a small length of air tubing, zip tie a stick or something long and thin to guide it, and suck them off the glass into a container by siphoning. This works very well.
