Re: Young Cardinal Shrimp
This morning was a good morning in the shrimp room! :D I was staring into the Cardinal Shrimp tank and found my first berried female.... Then after the excitement wore off I found a second. They do not carry many eggs and they are hard to see as well, but I noticed one looked "fatter" and ...

Berried Malaya Shrimp
Got a shot of this crowd of berried Malaya Shrimp this morning. This is in a 65 gallon tank and the larger more stable environment seems to have triggered a breeding frenzy. This is just some of the berried females and the males were doing the swim thing while I was taking this photos looking to fer...

Re: ID help needed
Thank you as always Mustafa, It is too bad that is the haste to supply shrimp to the ever growing hobby so many will go miss-labeled or incorrectly identified just to sell them. It is also frustrating for folks new to the hobby that end up with these shrimp when trying to ID them. Now it makes this ...

Re: ID help needed
OK after getting some suggestions and looking further on line I am agreeing that this is the wild form of Neocaridina heteropoda which is fine and I am glad to add it to my collection! A very cool shrimp and if you look at Dan's site http://www.theshrimpfarm.com he has a very good photo showing this...

I was contacted by a member of the forum a while back wanting to know if I could show some photos of Malaya Shrimp...He had purchased some with the tag "Malaya" and was pretty sure what he got was something else. OK so after discovering to his satisfaction they were in fact not Malaya Shri...

Final Say on Dark Green Shrimp?
Hello Mustafa, I have been to the species description page as well as the archives and all info points to these being Dark Green Shrimp, and along with adults I have many young in the 3 to 4 mm range and some are red, brown, or green again pointing to DGS. My adults are all various shades of green (...

Re: Berried Dark Maroon Shrimp
I have experienced a slow die off in this tank and it baffles me to no end and my other tank with Cardinals is fine and the shrimp are healthy although none have berried as yet. The Dark Maroon Shrimp are proving very difficult with the adults and few of the young have survived, but some are growing...

Re: alder cones
Well the shrimp in question was removed to the main tank with no more issues yesterday.... I sort of failed at this little experiment and didnt watch very close for the last week or so and am guessing the shrimp molted. There was really no sign of gradual removal of the problem, it was just gone a d...

Re: Update on my shrimp
Thanks for the updates! I came to this site about a year ago and it has helped me to be very successful at keeping most species of shrimp I now have (still having issues with Dark Maroon). The folks here will always give straight forward no BS advise when prompted... Looking forward to hearing how t...
