Re: My success story
Hi, so happy for you, I wish my shrimps be like yours too. May I know what algae it is that you mentioned slowly covers the substrate? I am looking for something that grows like this for a long time, all I can find are algaes that live only in fresh water, thank you so much! If possible can you sho...

Re: Berried female not producing larvae?
A second berried female showed up this morning. She appears to be carrying about 5-6 eggs. We've kept the house a little cooler this year. I wonder if the cooler temperatures (65-70) will increase incubation time. That post is towards the bottom of page 3 of the sticky thread. This shrimp hatched h...

Re: What did I do wrong
I think that it's probably the plants decomposing, as others have said. Try a bare tank... Just use a substrate with calcium and slowly acclimate them. Think of it as a "hospital tank" until they are all better. Then you can slowly add macroalgae. Currently I keep the remaining shrimps in...

Re: Chaetomorpha linum
I found that Chatomorpha linum (not spiralis or crassa) is euryhaline . Good research, and thanks for this great link. I don't have an answer, but I learned a new word today :) Woohoo for learning !! 📚 For others, euryhaline is when something can live in a variety of salinities. *range of salinitie...

Chaetomorpha linum
I found that Chatomorpha linum (not spiralis or crassa) is euryhaline. Does anyone have experience with this? Is this what Mustafa sells?

Re: Question About Spine Color
That's so cool! I'm so excited for the arrival of my shrimpSuper Jess wrote: ↑Mon May 07, 2018 10:30 am It's harder to see through the really red ones, but sometimes if the tract looks silvery I can see it. It is easy to view in the paler shrimp, and ranges from a dark line to a white or silver color in mine.

Re: Berried female not producing larvae?
I found this quote for you from the forum!! But as for dropping eggs, sadly that is a common thing for first time opae mothers. Its not unusual for them to drop all or most of their eggs, but they tend to be more successful the next time they berry. I don't know if anyone has a theory as to wh...

Re: New Tank Advice
In Supershrimp tanks with substrates you should never have to remove any poop or debris. I have tanks running for over 10 years with over 1000 shrimp in them...never had to vacuum the substrate or anything...or change any water. What happens to the poop? Do the snails eat it? At some point we'll ha...

Re: Question About Spine Color
Can you see inside the shrimp's digestive tract normally?
I've seen ghost shrimp's insides, but I've never thought that Opae Ula, being red and not transparent, were see-through.
I'll have to see when mine arrive
