How often should I do water changes to remove the tannins, or will it dissipate on it's own? If you have just removed the leaves, I would just keep up you're normal WC regimen, and over time, all the tannins will be carried out along with the Wc water. No need to overstress the shrimp with extra WC...

The first batch of RCS babys are doing well. I can see a faint red striped down some of their backs now. Amanos are doing well. I don't think the new 3 are actually bluish. The dead shrimp could be coincidental. You're sure it wasn't a molt?

Can you describe how they fight?

Hi John, I read your RCS profile and found it was pretty good. I think anything that helps expand the ranks of the freshwater invertebrate keeping hobby is a positive thing. The general lack of understanding is one of the most limiting factors affecting the expansion of the ranks. Thanks Apistomast...

It will be interesting to see if any contagious shrimp diseases/health issues surface as the hobby grows.

Ah - just took a look at you're pictures.

It's a little hard to tell, but to me they all look like females. They all seem to either have a extended abdominal area that is visible, or a visible saddle.

Don't forget - if the abdominal area extends below the shrimps pleopods, it's a female. The enlarged abdominal cavity is so they can store eggs. Have you read the articles/FAQ?
