So I have gotten some chaetomorpha in the post, I take it the guy had it in a marine sump or what ever and probably is around 1.022 - 1.025 sg and my tank or at around 1.016sg, shoukd I acclimatise it before it goes in my tank? Any help would be appreciated and I'm planning getting it in some water ...

you dont have to worry, i have fresh water shrimp too and know about cycling tanks.
