Re: Iis my tank ready for Supershrim? no sign of algae
Even though there may be no signs of algae it's probably there. There's also biofilm. I started a small jar for 12+ opae. There's no visible algae anymore. The jar has been up for around 8 months or so. I didn't add any opae for the first 2-3 months but let it sit in an area that offered direct sun ...

I think even if you add the opae to your tank with mollies the opae would stay hidden. The mollies would probably pick on the opae. Right?

Looks like you have quite a few berried females. Any idea how many you have total opae you have in your tan?

I would just like everyone to understand what's going on in Hawaii when it comes to the opae ula's environment and the effects.

Re: Green flower in my tank?
I don't think it's aveopora. I think i've had that in my old salt water reef tanks. Does not react or move when the opae come around it or touch it. I'll continue to take pics as the days go by.

Re: Green flower in my tank?
Let's see what this turns into. It's in the back of the tank but i've been watching it over the last month or so. Flower Power!

No idea what this is growing in my opae tank. The stem started and then the green flower looking thing at the tip. Can't get the best pics.

Shrimps are doing great. I have 4 of them but not looking to separate them to breed specifically orange. Just leaving them alone with all the others.

Interesting Article "Rare ecosystem’ being destroyed as homeless move in".
Interesting article. The area where that pond is has a lot of homeless camped out there. I had asked a friend of mine who lives out there. He said that area is dangerous.

I think it will be fine. It's been maybe 3 months since you've set it up. Let's see what others think.

Re: Clear Water
I probably let mine drop an inch or so before I top it off. The opae go crazy when I add new water. I try to slowly add it in. Although when I'm cleaning the front glass of algae the opae all come out and go crazy swimming all over the tank. What about adding a glass top to your tank? I had an open ...

Re: Clear Water
Do you have any pics to share? Personally I made the mistake of not cleaning the "live" crushed coral sand that I used and encountered numerous issues because I did not. Mine looked great for a month or so but later started to have issues with excess slime algae which I felt was due to the...
