I think Opaulas are waayyy tougher as compared to other shrimps, even cherry shrimps. There's no need for a filter for example, and they can survive/breed for years.. So I agree with NYCShrimp that it's those things you only need to buy once (if you take care of them properly without any mass deaths...

I've noticed what seems to be, for lack of a better term, a personality in one of the supershrimp (or perhaps just a display of memory). That is one individual (told apart by being notably paler than most all the others) is pretty much the only one that seems to take advantage of the layer of green...

I came across this photo of an opaeula on http://opaeula.weebly.com. Wow look at that color! It's claws/appendages is so prominent and red. Mine doesn't look like this, mostly still young perhaps? I wonder what's the age of it.

Yes it's about 22 degrees, they haven't lost their colour or started acting lethargic. Could it be that although the temperature of the thermometer is both set at 22 degrees but the actual water temperature varies? Since a larger tank will lose heat faster than the smaller tank?
