Mostly I was curious if he would combine shipping. How much of the macroaglae it is or how fast it grows.
I wonder if I could get some from someone that needs to trim back theirs.
I will probably sell/give away portions or snails as they get too much.

Re: Forum deadish? Mustafa on vacation?
Ah... darn. I get nervous buying from places if I can't ask about stuff. I was trying to ask about shipping and product amounts. Also makes me weary if something went wrong you wouldn't be able to get a repsonse. But he's the only person that sells the plant life. I really want some macroalgae.... I...

Re: Starting the tank- instant ocean ?
I had trouble mixing up Instant Ocean salt as well. I ended up heating up some water to help it dissolve but it didn't work very well. Next time I would mix the water and salt in gallon jugs and shake it and let it sit. It sounds like you figured it out though. I would love to see a picture of your...

Re: Starting the tank- instant ocean ?
Nope it never disolved. I looked it up elsewhere and found that it sometimes happens with instant ocean, especially with older batches or if it gets exposed to moister/air and clumps. So I just sucked out all the salt left over. Remixed some water in the jug this time. Since it all doesn't disolve I...

Re: Starting the tank- instant ocean ?
Soo.... I got my salt, hydrometer, and distilled water. I filled the tank with 4 jugs (gallons) of water then about 1 cup of salt. I also turned on a heater to help it warm up. An mixer it. Turned a bubbler on (its kinda weak... Maybe too much tubing. But it's new and I don't wanna shorten it cuz I'...

Hello, so I'm Going to be starting up a 5gl next weekend. My sister said she has a huge bucket of instant ocean at work that they can't use anymore because they don't keep salt water fish anymore. An said she could bring me a scoop or such if I wanted. So how much would I need for a 5gl bucket?... A...

Re: Newbie, excited to start the process!
I wonder if it would be too much to have both the random trumpet snails and 1-2nerites.... I like the look of the nerite snails a lot more... but I hear the trumpet ones are good for airing the sand. But I'm worried about over populating my tank... hmm... How many snails should I keep? If I keep 3-5...

Re: Newbie, excited to start the process!
@varan us thank you for the tips 1. Yes, I will not be adding anything till it's fully cycled and lots of algae build up. Though I will be feeding the hermits more often. They will get fed at least once a week maybe every 5-6 days depending on the need. I will test that out. But I have read on here ...

Hello :) all I have been lurking around this forum/site for lil bit. Just reading and searching around. I used to (still am just not active at the moment) be a member of another big shrimp forum. I was researching and setting up for cherry shrimp in a 10gl planted tank I had for over a yr. I remembe...
