Does any of you use driftwood in your tanks?
Why you use it? What shrimp you keep in these tanks?
Cheers,

I do. Why? Purely asthetic reasons for most of my tanks, but also have to use it with some of my vegan plecos that require it to maintain their proper health. I've used driftwood with in my tanks with different neocaridina sp. and caridina sp. I always caution people on driftwood to make sure that it's well aged and soaked in clean water that's been treated with a dechlorinator like Prime. But even then some have had problems they believed to have come from adding wood to their shrimp tanks, but I've yet to experience any troubles.

Sorry to bring up a slightly aging thread, but I have just recently brought some driftwood with Java Moss for my shrimp tank. It has been soaking in a spare tank with conditioned/de-chlorinated water for the past two weeks, and I have just now added it to my RCS tank - but they seem to be swimming round like crazy, like they are abit stressed - but I dont know why
The driftwood has been aged and left to soak for a long time as it came from a fellow hobbyist, and no chemicals have been used on it. Does anyone have any ideas? Should I take it out, or will they settle down in a while? Does driftwood affect any water parameters?
I appreciate any help/advice anyone can give me
<EDIT> Actually I think its bogwood, not driftwood - i'm not sure if that makes any difference(?)
