coolies and RCS?

Post by -GlitcH- »

I was just wondering if it would pose a problem keeping coolies with RCS.
If anyone has an experience with the two species.........please advise.

Thx

Don't do it. Loaches + shrimp= dead or miserable shrimp.

Although I am guessing that they won't be able to eat adult shrimp, they will almost certainly hunt down the young.

Dang! That is a lot of healthy looking Kuhlis!

I've spent the past 3 years trying to track down a group of healthy ones. They've been absent from the stores so long and I've read that the general health of the captive bred ones has declined over the years.

Last month, I finally found some in a local store. None of them looked good at all but I bought all six that they had because the store has a 2 week guarantee. Thankfully, I have a good quarrantine procedure and was able to save two of them from the ich and infections they had. But I still need about 10 more to complete my tank. . . .

Kind of sad that this is what it took to get a couple of these healthy enough to move out of quarantine.

Kuhlis are great and shouldn't bother adult shrimp (I used to keep them with snails and amanos until hubby stole them all for his tank) but as mentioned they will probably enjoy snacking on shrimplets.
