The are a couple that are more brown.

Time will only tell.

If they breed true, it was worth it.

If not, I will have a different Gene pool, for Breeding my other Dwarf Cajuns.

*Very* nice crayfish! Unfortunately, they are not yet breeding true yet, but there is no reason why you should not be able to breed a true-breeding strain in time. Good luck!

The Breed True Part

I was just hoping, they were not like, the so-called
: "Blue" Shrimp.

The Seller had a good feed-back record. And had no problem with answering ALL of my questions.

Armed with good information, that I received from this Forum and all of its active members.

It was alot eaiser to ask the right questions.

I know the seller. He's a very nice guy and in my experience you can trust him. I don't say that bout many people out there.

According to him, he is trying to breed them true also, but hasn't quite managed it yet. He's at 70% true breeding, but 100% is still a few generations away.

Your blue dwarf cray is the bluest one I have seen so far.

I have 2 that are that blue.

1 That is almost White with a Blue tint to it

2 that are brownish with blue.

1 That is carring the blue Gene.

I will try to post more pictures.
The 6 of the are in my Newly transformed 125 gal Invert Tank.
They are alittle hard to find at times.

No those are def. not shrimp, you have crayfish...they look pretty young, maybe a darker substrate will help develope a darker blue, works with my blue allenis

It is another interesting Invert. And this Hobby is still Young.
But, it has grow along way in just a short time.

The darker substrate might help them show a darker blue.

But, they are keep in a 125gal tank. I would rather spend the money or more Shrimp or Crayfish. Instead of more Gravel.

I like to set up my tanks for Breeding. I do not have any tanks set-up for a Show Tank.

Yup, I've been following the thread.

I wonder if I could end up getting ones that are blue and orange.

I will probably cross breed several different kinds in their own hybrid tanks, but still keep the pure strains, pure.

Next time I see these little buggers, I'm gonna try for them.

Substrate...black doesn't have to be gravel, I have some awesome black hawaain sand in my show tanks, they look great with my dwarf oranges and live plants.

Ooooh, that would look very nice. I'm sure it really brings out the colors in yours.

Yes, but not enough to jump for joy...yet. I have alot of females in this batch so i'm hoping for the best.

Are there any types of conditions (in your experience) that crayfish prefer to breed in? Sans weekly water changes of course.
