SAD :(

Post by WetPets »

One of my orange dwarfs was dead this morning...my conclusions:

My man decided to stick his hand in the tank yesterday after discovering my blue mystery snail egg clutch had fallen into the water...hmmm, something on his hands?? Or just a coincidence.

You can tell your man to wash his hands (and arms) thoroughly and rinse them completely before sticking them in the tank.

I'm guilty of sticking my hands in my tanks, but I am careful to minimize the risk of introducing anything toxic into the water. I probably need to get a pair of tongs and use them for most of the jobs I do with my hands.

When our charges die we often look (as we should) to see if we are at fault. There is no direct cause & effect here, so don't beat yourself up too badly. Rinsing is a good idea for sure, but it is unlikely unless you has a lot of soap or chemicals that this is the cause.
