Green/blue slime algae

My shrimp tank has inherited some green blue slime algae. I brought in a corkscrew val (yup, thought I checked the whole thing) and of course, didn't dip this one. Anyway, I've read about maracyn as a treatment. Well....this is a shrimp tank. Anyone know enough about maracyn and using this product in a shrimp tank? Thanks
