Of course I did not have a tape measure with me, but the crayfish was approximately 15-20 cm. That would be approximately 6-8 inches. That's *without* claws. The body was also very substantial looking. I had seen pictures of them before I saw that giant and always thought they'd be around 10-12 cm. It was a wild caught animal, so that might just be the absolute max size they get. Of course they get nowhere near the size of quads.

I've had fully grown P. alleni and P. clarkii before, and they would have been dwarfed by this guy both in lengh and width.

Wow! I had no idea they could get that big! That would be awesome! I wonder if they grow larger in the wild than they can be expected to in a tank. I know that is typical with quads anyway.

It is great that you know so much about the Hoas. No one else I've ever talked to has told me even as much as you have. I have basically had to learn about them from just having them. Thanks.
