I always assumed that they were baby snails, but I want to confirm with you guys.
Are they ramshorns? When they get big enough, watching them eat reminds me of my ramshorns.
The second picture is my bad attempt to take a picture thought the eyehole of a handheld 30x microscope.
Looking at the full-sized picture you can sort of see the mouth.
By the way, here's an interesting shot of two floating ramshorns
