Overfeeding Spirulina Algae?

Post by Mike615 »

Hello fellow Shrimp Addicts that need lots of help but wont admit it, :D

Well I got bitten by the shrimp. Just recently got 10 Red Poppin Cherries.

Well I'm kind of guessing you can't. I have the pure Spirulina powder that I mix with water then let dry, which I make it into flake form, which sinks pretty easily after that. So I'm wondering is it possible to overfeed with these stuff.

What are you implying?? :P

From what I understand, the shrimp overeating won't be a problem, but the excess food could cause nitrate problems.

I give my shrimp tons of food, and I haven't had any problems. I also have a really heavily planted tank (the plants use up the nitrates).
