Palaemonetes kadiakensis

Post by theshrimp_123 »

Hi,

Mustafa, recently i went to my wal-mart and saw some ghost shrimp. But guess what. There were some strange looking ghosts with no red whatsoever and white spots  . At first I thought they were going to die but they weren't milky white. Are they p. kadiakensis? Can you post a pic of yours so i can compare it to mine? Thanks. :D

That looks exactly like my shrimp. But if its so rare, how did they get them? Should i buy and breed some? Maybe i can introduce them to the hobby. :-) :) :D :-D

I think they are common in Mississippi and Louisiana.

I will try and breed them. I will offer some when i get a sufficient supply. When i do get enough, you want some Bradimus?

Yes, try to breed them. They usually have more eggs than P. paludosus and their larvae are smaller and go through more larval stages before they turn into Postlarvae (mini-shrimp). They are usually not offered in Petstores, but I guess they do offer them once in a while. In what state are you? Maybe Walmart obtained them locally.
