Malawa and Sri Lanka shrimp

Post by adimeatatime »

Here is a picture of my new Malawa shrimp. They are doing well and are quite active. I can barely wait for them to "grow up". :-D I have some Sri Lanka shrimplets that are doing well and very active too, but haven't been able to get a good picture of them.

Hi Pat,

Very nice shrimp and I just got 20 of them yesterday from Mustafa. All were alive and well and are now happily picking about in their new home. I will start a thread with some photos if I can get them to hold still long enough for a macro shot, active little shrimp....

Cheers, Bill

Hi Steve,
It is hard to get pictures of them that are any good. Hopefully, though I will get some soon. :D

Hi Bill,
Sorry, I missed you post....They are both doing good. I have baby Sri Lanka shrimp and hope to have baby Malawa's soon. How about yours?

I wanted to post an update...I saw a very berried Malawa today. Yeah!!!! :-D I will post back when I see some little ones moving around the tank.

I have found the Sri Lanka to be very prolific and I have several generations of young growing in the tank now and pretty much the same with the Malawa Shrimp. I will be moving the adult Sri Lanka into a 20 gallon long this weekend as there will be so many young growing in the 10 gallon they are currently in.

That is awesome Bill. I think I am still somewhat challenged keeping shrimp because I'm seeing babies, but not in the numbers you are. :D
