Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

This is the only difference that I could see that made me think it was a female.

I'm sure there is something on the male that I am missing to determine the sex.

The male gential openings are very hard to see, so most people will miss them if they don't know what to look for. Even so, you need really good eyes to see it on a photo. Since I don't have pictures of this species, I took the liberty of using your picture to point out where the male genital openings are. They are on the fifth pair of legs (counting from the claws that count as the first pair), which are stunted in all Aegla:

Also, that stunted pair of legs seems to be larger in the males than in the female. Hope this helps.

Yes.

I thought it was implied by the fact that I did not correct you.

Now get these guys breeding....make sure the temperature is in the low 70s as they allegedly don't like higher temperatures at all.

How long have you had them ?
This would be a great Species for the Hobby.

What are they classified as Crab, Crayfish, Shrimp ?

I don't think they are classified with any of them. I found this, but got lost part way through. maybe someone can interpret? They look crab like, but I don't think they are crabs at all.

I've also been reading several articles that Anomura may not hold up much longer due to DNA testing and other analysis such as the structure of the eyes, sex organs and larva. What I read tonight seems to indicate that anything that looked like a crab was dumped under Anomura and there may be some new classifications soon.
