Hi All,
I got two of these at the weekend not sure if they are males or female but the guy in the shop couldn't tell me what they were (normally he's really good and I trust him)
Anyone got any idea?
All help appreciated

Common Name(s): Marmorkreb, Marbled Crayfish????????

Re: Identification help please
Hi John,
That's a "Marmorkrebs" or "marble crayfish". It's a parthenogenic crayfish species with only females. I.e. you need only one animal for reproduction. You'll have tons of babies soon...

Hey John,
You know, I personally think this species would make an excellent aquacultured food crayfish. Imagine, every single individual can breed. Let us know how these crays taste your shrimp/cray gumbo...
