Hmmm...good question. There are hundreds of Macrobrachium species out there. I have seen this shrimp offered for sale as "Macrobrachium celebensis", but I highly doubt that name is correct. Just wait and see if it stays this small or if it turns into one of the "monster" type huge Macrobrachium species. Juvies of Macrobrachium spp. can look quite similar. It's more reliable to try to identity adult specimen.
