Filter too Strong?

So I recently got an Eheim filter. I know the shrimp don't like a strong current but they keep clinging on to the filter and when they swim up the water output shoots them and they loose control I turned it off for the time being is this too strong? And is there any way that I can make it not shoot the water so fast?

Our moderator, Mustafa, has said in many posts no filtration. To eliminate the problem remove the filter. Put the filter on a freshwater fish tank or freshwater shrimp tank.
