New Toys for my Opae

Post by Harry »

Since daily feeding is out of the question, one needs to find new ways to "play with the tank". Previously, I had cut up some plastic plants to use small parts of them for my aquascape - just to provide some visual appeal and some additional feeding surfaces. I had cut some plastic berries off some of the plant sections, as I just wanted to use the leafy part of the plant. Today I tied some microalgae onto those "berries" and placed them in the tank, where they float. The Opae cannot stay away from them. It's fun to watch them up there. And because the berries are so close to the lamp, they will likely do well for growing algae and biofilm.

No, it will probably be shrimp training like they have for goldfish.
