Algae growing on shells inside shrimp tank

Post by danzel »

Is is normal for algae to be growing on the shells inside the tank?

Any ways to remove the algae or prevent the growth of it? I don't want my whole tank to be green

Use a magnetic scrubber to remove it from walls.

If you don't want your whole tank to be green, you have chosen the wrong species. Algae naturally clean the water and serve as food for the shrimp. If you don't want excessive algae growth you can either reduce feeding or stop feeding altogether until the algae decrease. You don't want to get rid of the algae altogether.
