Hi
I am still new to this but I wanted to know if this is normal. I took some distilled water and put in half the amount of instant ocean salt. Then I added EGG SHELLS into the tank and left it next to the window. After 1 week and a few days I poured the water into the fish tank and it SMELLS. The smell might be from the EGG SHELLS but I cleaned them in water before hand. What I wanted to know is the smell NORMAL or Bad for the shrimps I just ordered ? Please reply to this post it is freaking me out.

Brian, you need to post these Supershrimp/Opae questions in the right forum. I am going to transfer this post to the Supershrimp forum where it belongs. As for the smell, if you followed the directions *exactly* as you read them on this website, everything should be ok. You said you washed the egg shells before, so I doubt it's the eggs. You may simply not be used to the smell of the brackish water.
