New tank mates - colorful snails

Post by Harry »

I received some nerite snails today for my ten-gallon tank. That's the good thing about a ten-gallon; it takes some doing to overcrowd it. The nerites are: zebra, tiger, leopard, spiral horned and tri-color horned. They are like the snail shells I bought as spare homes for my dwarf hermit crabs. The seller has these acclimated for freshwater tanks. I guess that's where the sales are. But these are brackish bred nerites. So I am slowly re-acclimating them to brackish water in a small plastic tank. I bought ten. They shipped twelve, in case of death, and it looks like two did not make it. I've attached my photos, as well as one of the seller's photos.
