New Tank setup
HI Guys,
I had just set up a new tank but I am not sure if I had set it up correctly. bought a few opae ula from someone and also transfer my current eco system to this 2ft tank. I had mixed the water with marine salt and distilled water. making it salinity at 1.010. also I had add in some lava rock and volcano rock. not sure if the rock is suitable for those shrimps. I had added some seafan and coral. I had white fine sand as my base. I wash it many time with tap water and dry it under the sun. hope the chlorine will be gone before I put in my tank. also I have this over head filter. not sure if the filter suit the shrimps. I notice the shrimps like to go to the water and get flush down by the current. some time I see that happen, I scared the shrimp will die because of the impact. I put a net with java moss inside the net. hope when the java moss grow then the shrimp will be block by the current. Need help to guide if I am doing it correctly. I had a photo of my current tank.
need help on this few question:
1) any issue if I put this 2 rock in the tank? (Lava rock & volcano rock)
2) what kind of filter to use to reduce the shrimps been flush down by the current?
3) any other thing I need to take note also ?
4) light is on for 2 hours at night. morning there is light from the window but no direct sunlight. hoping it will reproduce.

so I don't need a filter at all? I thought if there is a filter will be better for them. then they can reproduce better?

Bro Mustafa's article did not say anything about filter. so I assume no filter was added to the tank. hmm... interesting.
any bro here put a filter in the tank and successfully reproduce?
I remove my filter already.. hehe..
thanks Stalker

Re: New Tank setup
Because they are no longer stressed bby the vibration af the filter

so that is consider normal? but they are like hanging on top of the water crawling.. I thought they should be swimming around normally and hiding around...
Re: New Tank setup
Hi all,
till date after I remove my filter. today I finally saw 1 of my berry shrimps..

thanks for all the advice.
but just wanted to ask. do I still continue to feed as usual? I scared when I feed, the female will also rush over to fight for the food. then my berried shrimp will be injured due to the fighting of food.
do I still feed ?
need your advice.
thanks.

Re: New Tank setup
Dont worry, the berried shrimp is as resistant as others.
