Too Much MacroAlgae?

Too Much MacroAlgae?
This is my 3 gallon supershrimp home. It has been up and running for about a year. I now have berried females and a bunch of larvae swimming around. My question is can there be too much macroalgae. The macro you see in the picture started out as one clump. It occupies the front half of the aquarium. Should I reduce the amount or is it OK?

I think thats totally your call, its your tank!. Trim that bush imo.

I would consider removing half of it. I have a similar problem. I haven't removed it yet as the snails and shrimp are in it. Would hate to through out shrimp with the algae.

I would trim it (pluck out some) if you want a more open looking tank. I am planning on doing that to my tanks, I think I have enough to fill my 2.5 gal solid with extra. It will grow back as it works to keep your tank clean of nitrates. But my larvae are now tiny shrimp and I am afraid of losing them. Snails, not so much.

Thank you all for advice.

When pruning make sure to just pluck a little at a time (I kinda just pull strands) and hold the macroalgae against some source of light to see if there are any shrimp or snails in there. Luckily, there is less of problem with shrimp getting stuck in this as there is with shrimp getting stuck in dense hair algae (so stay away from anyone selling "angle hair moss" = dense hair algae = death trap)..which is a horrible shrimp trap, especially during pruning time. Before I discovered this species of macroalgae I had hair/string algae in my tanks and spent hours and hours trying to save shrimp and snails during pruning time (and still lost many).
