Re: im so excited!
i ended up switching the lights from the 20L and the 40B. the algae already seems to be doing a lot better and i like the color better, it feels more natural. to me anyway

Re: im so excited!
how long does it take for a shrimp to go from saddled to berried?
Re: im so excited!
You're right about Mustafa's method working the best. I haven't had a bit of trouble with my tanks and the shrimp are all happy and appear very healthy along with the snails and the algae. Congrats on your success and let us know when the berries appear.

third berried female spotted today, and 19 larva counted floating aorund
Re: im so excited!
They do seem to breed in semi-unison, here's hoping you have a high survival rate for the larva.

Re: im so excited!
thanks! i counted three times again today, got to 21. 21 little larvas bobbing around. only saw 2 of the previous 3 berried shrimps. im assuming the third is hiding. temp has been steady averaging 76 ~75/77 night/day.

Re: im so excited!
so i took some pictures yesterday while i was able to see all 3 berried shrimps. then my gf noticed the moult on top of the water upside-down! thought that was pretty sweet. there was another in the algae also, maybe 2 more berried shrimp to come? one can only hope. theres also a white shrimp that im not sure if its albino or what, but looks pretty cool.
if you followed or read this far, thanks! i want to decorate this tank more, any suggestions will be considered.

Re: im so excited!
all but two larvae are benthic as of today, they are struggling to swim to a surface (whether it be water surface or glass) unlike the rest that have made it clear they can frolic amongst the heard now. but by tomorrow night they should get it down. three berried still but new moults every day so far.
Mustafa's method is the way to go. i havent done anything to this tank. i just look at it, quite intently and tell it to keep fighting the good fight. seems to do the trick. i do have to trim back my macro algae though. but i fear it may get rid of some snails if i do that.
