Is this a thing? I've noticed a couple of times in my larger tank what appear to be clear, stick-straight threads either lodged in the sand or on a piece of decoration. At first I thought they were wayward cat hairs, but when I pulled them out, they were not. I saw another one today and after staring at it for a while, it looks very similar to the long antennae on the shrimps' heads. However, the pieces I pull out are never as long as their antennae.
Do they break or fall out? I've never noticed any shrimp with shortened or missing antennae though.
Do shrimp ocassionally loose their antennae?

Shrimp sometimes do loose antenne but, it's not very common.
