Hi Friends,
One of my snails is floating... He didn't come out of the bag willingly, I had to (very gently) push him out. Anyways, he hasn't sunk yet. Do some snails float or is this one dead?
Sometimes they hang upside down from the surface tension of the water and feed on the biofilm. If it's just floating, and not moving, I'd leave it for now and just wait and see. They're tough little critters.

You could take him out and put him in a glass with some brackish water. Hate to call DOA too soon, and this way he gets a chance to wake up without polluting your new tank.

How are the shrimp settling in?
If he's dead, won't the shrimp just eat him? Is he really polluting? I'll leave him in overnight and make a decision in the morning...
The shrimp are doing really well! They seem to really love their new home
They're jumping about and exploring, they're so fun!
A freshly dead snail doesn't float...it stays at the bottom where it will get eaten by other snails and shrimp. As was said before you snail was probably just feeding at the surface.
