Live Sand for substrate

Post by Tempura »

I've a bag of expired live Aragonite from Nature's Ocean. It's past expiry by about a year.

Do I soak it or wash it before since since its probably not active anymore? If I had to wash it, how would that be done?

Thanks!

Don't use it. Even if you rinse it, it will still be full of organic bits that will break down and pollute your tank. Buy some new, non-live aragonite and save yourself a real headache.
