Tank recommendations
Hi All, I have a 1 gallon glass jar that I rigged with a biorb light. I fell in love with these little shrimps and am looking for a larger tank. I kinda want to stay 10 gallons or smaller and have been interested in the biorb cube tanks because I like the Biorb light and the tanks look stylish but am open to other suggestions. Even thought of buying a regular tank / lid and cutting out a hole for the biorb light. Any recommendations on a tank would be appreciated. I’m planning on setting it up this fall when the weather cools down enough for me to safely purchase more shrimps.

One of my tanks is a Lifegard Aquatics Fullview 7 gallon with the angled front. It has a glass lid with clips to hold it in place. I bought the Lifegard Aquatics full spectrum 10" led light for it and it is perfect. The light is 11 1/2" long and the legs will expand to 18" so it fits the tank perfectly. The angled front is really nice. All in all a great set up and the angled front makes viewing a pleasure.
Another great tank is the Dennerle Shrimp King 10 gallon kit. It comes with an excellent light, glass lid with clips, and a filter, which you do not need, but it is in the kit. My son has this set up and his shrimp love it and have been breeding like crazy.

I bought the Dennerle 2.5 L Nanocube tank which is nice. My only complaint about it is that the glass lid that is held at the top is kinda small which allows for dust to fall in overtime
Re: Tank recommendations
I’m going to check them out. My only concern is that I have cats and rambunctious teenagers who like to throw squishy stress balls so it will need a Strong lid to protect them from any harm. The cats thankfully don’t seem interested in the jar I have now but not sure what they would do to a larger tank. They do try and torment my mouse in his cage by laying on the lid. Or maybe my mouse is tormenting them?
I wonder if it’s better to have 2 smaller 5 gallon tanks verses one large 10 gallon tank? I’d like to take some of the more interesting shrimps and isolate them For breeding to see if any other color patterns emerge. One little shrimp I got from Mustafa is red with a white / clear band. Reminds me of an Oreo.
Would be cool to see if he / she passes it on to offspring.

I have a Dennerle shrimp cube too, I think you meant 10 L which is roughly 2.5 gal. Nice tank. The lid is strong but you are right, the space around it is large enough to allow a bit of dust in and allows for greater evaporation too. But I recommend it.

The Lifegard Fullview is also available in 5 gallon. Two of those would be great.

Woops! Yep the 10 L one, and yeah I do like it and the simplistic look is very nice. I just got myself a clear plastic sheet that covers the top so the dust can't fall in anymoresliphorn wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 7:45 am..
