So I have been feeding my shrimp powder but I'm almost out but I make homemade food by using lettuce powder and flower and an egg then cut the dough into strips and dry it out use it for my neocardina shrimp tanks but will it work for my opae ula

Once your tank is set up and established, you should never have to feed them. The biofilm that builds up will be enough to feed the shrimp. Any additional food you put in the tank will probably start to rot and cause an ammonia spike which can harm the shrimp.

I would agree as well. Vegetable or algae based foods I think would great but it's really on the initial start. If you continue to feed eventually you'll just pollute the water assuming you have no filter. All shrimp are scavengers and will eat anything. Just need to keep in mind what you're feeding them. Completely different care vs Neos.
