Beast Mode snail

Post by dherrington1 »

Just thought I'd share this one. Apparently I have a snail that wants to get into Beast Mode. This is all black sand substrate, but it climbed all the way up the side of the tank and went inverted on the biofilm. Thought it was interesting. Shot with my new S22 Ultra at 108MP, but compressed to fit in the size rules of the forum.

I've had about 3-4 do this at once. It's kinda neat. It's amazing how the little surface tension they need to stay up like that. I was able to add 3 more handfuls of lava rock to a 7in diameter tank with one holding on the entire time. The water displacement shoved the level up so high that the lid cut off any escape he would have to the bottom so a little gentle poke to break the surface tension was all it took to let him gently fall to the bottom where he would have more sources for food while evaporation occurred and lowered the water again.
