Going back to Black Coral Sea fan

I know, I know. Numerous people in this group have told me to get rid of the one I had before.

BUT, I have noticed that tons of other tanks and jars have had their coral fans for years and they never affected their Opae Ula.

I am going to put some lava rocks back in my set up but I’m also going to get a coral fan.

Wellllllll, since no one has responded to this post, I decided to get a fake coral sea fan.

I’ve been letting it soak in distilled water for about 2 days now & will probably wait another 2 days before putting it in my 3gallon jar.

I hope this is long enough to make sure my shrimps & babies don’t die.

Great decision! Fake is better than getting a real one playing roulette. Most of the time a real sea fan does not work out as there is still too much organic matter attached to it. Like I said before, a lot of the "mysterious deaths" reported by customers happen to have sea fans in them. When the sea fan is removed, the problem stops.
